Tour Itinerary: Morocco Desert Trips from Marrakech to Sahara Desert Tours 8 Days 7 Nights
Day 1: Airport Marrakech
When you arrive to Marrakech airport, you will find us waiting to pick you up and transport you to your hotel or riad.
Day 2: Marrakech - Telouet – Ouarzazate
Following a tasty breakfast, your tour of the Imperial Cities from Marrakech will begin as we depart to Telouet by taking on the Tizi-N-tichka pass across the High Atlas Mountains 2260m above sea level. Once there we will visit Kasbah of Pacha Glaoui and enjoy lunch in the citadel. We continue driving to Ait Benhaddou via Ounila valley and its Berber villages to reach Ouarzazate where we get to enjoy dinner and spend the night in a typical hotel.
Day 3: Ouarzazate-Skoura Palm-Valley of Roses-Dades Gorges
Day 3 starts with breakfast in the hotel before we depart at 8 am. Our next stop will be Skoura, home to Kasbah of Amredil. This Kasbah is situated in a spacious palm grove and marks the beginning of the “Route of one thousand Kasbahs". We continue our journey through the ever fragrant and very picturesque valley of roses before going of road to pay a visit to nomads that inhabit the caves. Upon reaching Dades gorges we will first explore the rock formations before paying a visit to Boulmane du Dades for a lunch break, dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 4: Dades Gorges – Toudra Gorges - Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes
Your Imperial Cities Morocco Tour resumes after a typical breakfast when we visit our next stop, Todra Gorge. There you will be given a bit of free time to explore and hike up the 300m high canyons, making it a favored spot for climbers. Then we depart to Erfoud and stop for lunch before making our way to Merzouga. We will arrive at a hotel in Merzouga at 4 pm which gives us time to enjoy the pool before our camel trek in the dunes. We will trek by sunset (Astonishing scene) till we reach our nomadic camp for a night of good food and music around the campfire before sleeping in our tents under the desert sky.
Day 5: Merzouga Dunes - Tazarine - Agdez – Zagora Dunes
We wake early to catch the Sahara sunrise and make our way back to the hotel in Merzouga. After a quick shower and breakfast we will meet our driver to resume Morocco Imperial Cities and Desert Tour and drive to Tazarine. In Agdz, after having lunch we will visit the fortified village and the cradle of the Alawite dynasty that reigned over the past three centuries. After that we continue to zagora and the dunes for another Camel trek and overnight desert camp.
DAY 6: ZAGORA DUNES-OUARZAZATE-AIT BENHADDOU KASBAH – MARRAKECH
Again you will awoke before sunrise to see the first lights of the day (magical lights before the sunrise),after the sunrise, Berber breakfast in the camp of Zagora, back on the camels to meet your driver, and start your journey back to Marrakech, you will pass via Ouarzazate and have free time for lunch in a local restaurant,and then we will visit taourirt kasbah and Studio of cinema in Ouarzazate,and after that we will visit the UNESCO world heritage site of Kasbah Ait Benhaddou,In the afternoon, you will continue via the Atlas Mountains, We arrive back to Marrakech around 17:00 pm
DAY 7: GUIDED CITY TOUR "FULL DAY"
The final day of the Marrakech and desert tour is fully dedicated to exploring the red city of Marrakech. Situated under the High Atlas Mountains the city combines ancient Aesthetics of an old fortified medina with the modern design of the city of Gueliz built during the French occupation and is home to Morocco’s largest souk. The Jemaa el Fna square and mosque, the square itself is filled to the brim with performers of all sorts: story-tellers, dancers, snakes charmers and musicians and at night the square turns into a very spacious open air restaurant. We will also tour the Koutoubia Mosque, built in the 12th century in the reign of Almoravid Dynasty and the “seven saints” of the ismailian era as well as the tombs of many local historical figures. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
DAY 8: TRANSFER AIRPORT MARRAKECH
We will transport you to the airport at your convenience and depending on your flight time, and wish you farewell and hope you have had the best time with us.
